Maid of Honor Rapping Toast

This Eminem inspired toast is amazing. Way to go girl.... ha.

Yet Another New Video: Justin Timberlake

Man I was not kidding when I said its new music day. While this technically was released last week here is the racy new Justin Timberlake video 'Tunnel Vision' featuring Timberlake. I like the song but I could do without them ripping off Robin Thicke's naked women video theme. Get original people!

(Also as of today this video is no longer banned from youtube due to its racy content)

New Video - Taylor Swift 'Red'

I guess today is the day for new music videos. Here is a new one for Taylor Swifts called "Red". I always like when musicians make videos out of their concerts and I think this one pretty much sums up what it would be like to see Ms. Swift in concert. I like.

New Ellie Goulding "Burn"

Pretty stoked for this new music from Ellie Goulding that came out this morning. The song is called 'Burn' and like pretty much everything she does I love it.

Watch it. Now.

:)

Phish Is Back

I also watch some fun Phish this weekend thanks to them webcasting the SPAC shows. The highlight was easily the second set from last night but the 'Wolfman's Brother' from the night of the 5th was great. Check it out above.

Go Andy!

Hello everybody! I hope that this post finds everyone nice and happy after a long holiday weekend. I sure did a lot of eating and relaxing this weekend it was much needed. I don't know about you but when I get some time off of work I tend not to do a damn thing. Maybe its because I'm always at full speed while at work so I take the days off to sleep and relax. Or that my body was just exhausted from the last few weeks and needed a rest. Either way Friday was worth it.

Anyways I spent a good portion of the day yesterday watching the Wimbledon finals where yup finally Andy Murray captured the championship. It finally ended the 77 year drought of a player from England winning the most important sporting prize in the country. It was fun to watch and I may have even shed a few tears for Andy after he pulled out the victory. This is my favorite picture I saw of him today reading all the newspapers.... can you even imagine?

Speaking of tears... do yourself a favor and watch this ESPN 'Carry On' special that aired yesterday. My boyfriend has warned me about Sunday morning SportsCenters before... this one will definitely make you a little emotional.

Happy week everyone.

Ellie Goulding - Dead in the Water (Live)

"If I was not myself
And you were someone else
I'd say so much to you
And I would tell the truth
'Cause I can hardly breathe

When your hands let go of me
The ice is thinning out
And my feet brace themselves

I'm there in the water
Still looking for ya
I'm there in the water
Can't you see, can't you see?"

Who Loves Beyonces? This Girl!

This girl was just a little excited to see Beyoncé in LA this week.

Best Selfie Ever

By now we all know what a 'selfie' is. For all you living under a rock its when you take your own picture with your cell phone and well people are obsessed with it! I've seen a lot of good and ridiculous ones but nothing beats the one above.

This one is taken when a girl decided it would be fun to run on the field during the baseball College World Series. She gets one off right as she is about to be tackled.

Love it.

Oooo I just found a vine video too! HAHA.

Six Best Outdoor Venues

Buzzfeed has compilied a list of the six best outdoor musical venues to see before you die. I have seen two out of the six and been to a concert at one. Yes I count when I walked around the empty Red Rocks while on vacation with my family in high school.

1. Hollywood Bowl: Los Angeles
2. Red Rocks Amphitheatre: Morrison, Colorado
3. The Starlight Theatre: Kansas City, Missouri
4. The Gorge: Quincy, Washington
5. Jones Beach Theatre: Wantagh, New York
6. Alpine Valley: East Troy, Wisconsin

I got some work to do!

The Great Gatsby VFX

I absolutely loved the Great Gatsby. Heck if you have been hanging out with me over the last two weeks I probably have told you so. Anyways I usually don't love movies with over the top visual effects but the way they did this one was just amazing. Today I found a video that pulled the veil off the movies use of the green screen and I found it to be fascinating. I can't imagine as actors pretending everything is behind you, fabulous job.

The Culture of Phish

Last week I talked all about how PBS was going to do a new interview with Trey and asked for all of our Phish stories. I'm sad to report that my photo and story was not picked from the thousands that were submitted but that's okay. The ones that were, are awesome.

The video interview is above. To read more follow this LINK. And below I will post some of the fan quotes below.

Like I said these quotes are amazing and perfectly sum up what it means to be a phish fan. Its also good to know that I'm not alone in this world.

"My bank account alone will attest to the importance of Phish in my life."

"Phish is a musical force unlike any other band, and Trey Anastasio is a jedi."

"As a high school teacher, I have often come across students who are huge music lovers. When I hone in on that passion, I will introduce them to Phish, knowing I am altering their perspective on music forever."

"People who don't get it ask me how I can see 10 concerts in a row from the same band. My response is to compare it to a game... If the Yankees played the Red Sox 10 times in a row, you would never get the same game twice but always have the same electricity and excitement."

"The band has given me my best friends, my wife, the best memories of my life...and a whole lot of great music."

"I have literally become lifelong friends with people who I met while standing in line for a show."

"To this day, I get goosebumps on my skin and butterflies in my stomach on the day of shows, feelings that build and build until the band plays that first note."

"They didn't even have to sing; their instruments spoke for them. My heart was complete."

"The joy I get from hearing the band perform is second only to the joy that comes from the camaraderie and friendship that has endured specifically because of this band and the culture it fosters."

"It's not a Barnum & Bailey Show with acrobatics and fire and death defying acts. They don't need to fly over you on a trapeze to get your attention...they just have to play a bass riff and the crowd goes nuts."

"Some people go to therapists to work through their issues. Me, well I go see Phish. They are my therapy."

"The community was one of the most amazing I have ever experienced. I was on the train from that moment on and have seen them around 100 times."

"We loved the song 'Wading in a Velvet Sea' so much that it was the song we had our first dance to at our wedding."

"I hope they're around long enough to bring my kids some day. They enjoyed Phish in the womb, and the second half of the album Billy Breathes ended up being about the finest lullaby I could find."

"No matter how hectic our lives get we can always reconnect when we hit the road headed for a show."

"I remember the bleachers bouncing, everyone singing along and dancing, chairs being tossed up into the rafters and thinking, this -- whatever this is -- is awesome."

"Phish is an experience, usually life-altering. The kind that whisks you away from your reality, and sends you and your friends on a journey."

Oh and by the way supreme jealousy to my friends who are going to the Maine tour opener tonight. Have fun and be safe. See you all next week.

Big Brother Bring Back Britney!

Big Brother is back for another season this summer and I'm seriously lacking on someone to root for. Here is an idea BB why don't you bring back my girl Britney and all will be right with the world.

She is the queen of one liners and diary room confessions. I love her!!

Here is a tribute video for her. (My favorite is her fake conversation with Staten Island girl JoJo)

Canadian Party!

All of Canada celebrated when two of its most famous celebrities Avril Lavigne wed Nickleback frontman Chad Kroeger.

These two have had enough jokes thrown their way during their relationship all I'll say is best of luck you two.

Happy Birthday Alyssa

Happy Birthday to my friend Alyssa. I wrote to you all about Alyssa last week and how she is in the hospital right now battling some complications from her fight with Cystic Fibrosis. Well today is her 14th birthday and from what I hear she is doing very well and is in great spirits.

This picture above is from when she came to visit me on my roof deck with my friend Amy and her niece Mia and we had a pizza party. It was a blast. I hope she gets out of the slammer (what we like to call hospital) soon and can come back for another party.

If you get a chance today send a prayer or some good thoughts to the bravest 14 year old I know.

New Pixies Music

Here is the release of the first Pixies song in almost 10 years. And its actually really good. Give it a listen below.

-Late night hot tub party

-dreadlock to the face

Thinking About You Always

A few years ago to this day I got a phone call that would forever change the course of my life. It was my friend Colleen letting me know that our good friend Emily passed away in a rock climbing accident in Seattle. My world froze. Slowly through the years it has begun to thaw out but not without every single day thinking about my friend and how lucky I was to have her in my life the years that I did.

I do not like July 2nd. Never a great day in my eyes since that phone call. But today I want to change that.

Today I choose to be happy. Today I choose to live. Today I choose to laugh. I do this because I know its what Emily would have wanted.

I miss you my friend but I know wherever it is you are you are happy, smiling and jumping around with more energy then everyone around you combined.

Who Is Chopping Onions In My Office?

ESPN did a fabulous special yesterday during SportsCenter that showed the world of sports helping bring military families back together.

I'm a mess right now.

Words to Live By

Just in case you forgot:

"Always be yourself
Unless you can be a unicorn
Then always be a unicorn"

You are welcome.

John Grant - Pale Green Ghosts

While tooling around the NPR site I found another interesting article on John Grant. Following a great article where he talks about battling demons and becoming okay with yourself it includes his latest single "Pale Green Ghosts".

This song is quite amazing and I'm looking forward to learning more about John and his music.

Kid Rock vs Scalpers

My boyfriend told me all about how Kid Rock has taken on the scalpers during his show this summer offering $20 dollar tickets and doing whatever he can to keep the fans in the seats.

Today NPR has a great article about how he is going to try and do this. Its worth the read HERE.

By the way my favorite quote from the entire article is when he talks about reserving the front two rows for die hard fans.

"They are not for sale, " Kid Rock says. "I'm tired of seeing the old rich guy in the front row with the hot girlfriend. And the hot girlfriend, you know, with her boobs hanging out, with her beer in the air, just screaming the whole time. The old rich guy is standing there like he could[n't] care less. It's a very common theme at Kid Rock concerts."

I'm not a huge fan of Kid Rock's music but I am a fan of the man himself. Keep up the good work Kid.

This Week!

This picture that Phish just posted just made me extremely happy... why?

Because TOUR STARTS THIS WEEK!!!!

Yesssssssss.

Dance Dance Revloution King

This may be the best video I've ever seen of someone playing the game 'Dance Dance Revolution'. Ha. Trust me this is worth the watch today.

Favorite Signs of Weekend

This was a picture taken at the NYC Gay Pride Parade held over the weekend. I love it so much. Congrats to all the newly engaged/legally married couples out there.

Love Is Love

2013 Running of the Interns

Have you ever heard of the annual tradition called 'Running of the Interns'? Well if you haven't you are in for a treat. Follow this link over to Buzzfeed and see their hilarious recap. Its perfect.

In Real News

In actual real news my thoughts and prayers are going out today to the families of the 19 firefighters who died last night battling the flames in Arizona. As you can see from this picture above posted by the AP the fire was very intense and was believed to be started by lightening.

Awful.

Photo of the Weekend

Glastonbury 2013 was held over the weekend and I think that Ivan Gavan captured the best photo of the crowd and stage right before The Rolling Stones hit the stage.

Looked nuts.

Great photo.

My Thoughts About Paula Deen

Lets make this short and simple people. Above is a picture of Paula Deen on NBC apologizing for the words she used over 20 years ago in a deposition.

This is my feelings about this entire situation.

I Do Not Care.

Again.

I didn't care about Paula Deen before and her comments doesn't make me hate her or love her any more then it did 2 weeks ago.

Lets move on people or shall I say news. Lets move on.

Monday Monday Monday

Hello my people. Or person. Or whoever by accident stumbled on this today. I'm sorry for the late start to the week but I had a lot to get done this morning. I hope everyones day is off to a great start and that you had half as great of a weekend that I did.

I spent a lot of money this weekend but I think it was well deserved... everything from a new flat screen for my living room, to new sunglasses and a much needed trip to Trader Joes. It was a weekend full of getting things done and it was much needed.

This week is a short week for me here. I am working on the 4th but have taken off Friday to sleep in and well depending on the weather hopefully lay out and work on my tan. I have been severely lacking in that department this year.

Finally here is something fun to start off your week: Snuffy the Seal Goes Home. Enjoy!
