Truth

Springsteen ft. Tom Morello

News hit today that Springsteen has invited Morello to play with him in Australia during his tour later on this year. Wish I could teleport myself there.

Check out this ridiculously good cover of "Ghost of Tom Joad" featuring the two of them.

Grace Potter Believes!

Grace Potter just posted this picture. Glad to see others are on the Squatch Hunt :)

Dear Abby

Sad to hear of the passing of "Dear Abby" creator Pauline Phillps today. I can remember fondly reading these out of the paper when I was little.

In her book "Best of Abby" she commented that her years writing the column "have been fulfilling, exciting, and incredibly rewarding... My readers have told me that they've learned from me. But it's the other way around. I've learned from them. Has it been a lot of work? Not really. It's only work if you'd rather be doing something else."

Rest in Peace.

Bad Lip Reading of the NFL

Maybe one of the funnier things I have seen in a while. Love when they do this.

In other news time is quickly running out on this day and I am badly behind on EVERYTHING. Why am I on here?

How I Feel

Music Question

My afternoon is about to be filled with work so I'm trying to squeeze in a lot right now. Here is your very easy music question of the day.

Q: What artists childrens book, The English Rose, went on sale in 2003?
A: Madonna

Analyze Phish Episode 5

"Harris and Scott are comedians, music lovers and friends. Where do they differ? Harris loves Phish and Scott does not. On Analyze Phish, Harris navigates the vast landscape of Phish's catalogue to find entry points for Scott while trying to explain the live Phish experience without the use of illegal substances".

....man have I been in this conversation before....

Listen to Episode 5, Right Here.

Congrats Kara DioGuardi

The former American Idol judge, and easily the best judge besides Simon in my opinion has announced to the world she is expecting her first child.

I like this news.

Oprah and Lance. What To Do...

Tonight is the epic Oprah and Lance interview where he will admit to the world that he has in fact taken performance enhancing drugs. I love me everything Oprah (its a small downfall of mine) I don't think that I can watch tonight.

Its not that I am mad about the drug use (I think its just silly) but what I'm most mad about is how much of an asshole Lance was denying his drug use. He literally threw tons of people under the bus, ruined peoples reputations, was smug and didn't come clean even when he knew he was wrong. Now we are all supposed to just watch Oprah tonight see him skirt around the truths only because now the statue of limitations is over and he can't get in trouble? Oh please. You are a jerk. I'm glad your wins were taken away. You cheated. You lied. You didn't come clean and you hid behind your non profit.

Wrong on so many levels.

Here is a great video of him denying everything...

Best of luck to you Lance and Oprah I hope this brings a billion viewers to your channel. You can just count me out of this one.

Future Groupie

Flashback Video: Bowie

David Bowie will be releasing a new album in March. We can only hope that he is well enough to support it with a tour. He hasn't done a concert since a massive heart attack stopped his 2003/04 world tour and hasn't sung a song in public since 2006. Six years!!!

Check out a performance from that tour. I for one would totally buy a ticket and go.

Do it Bowie!!!

Arrested Development Is Back!

I'm super excited for this spring because one of my favorite shows of all time is coming back! Arrested Development has filmed a few episodes that will be released on Netflix, their purpose is to set it up for a movie.

I would like to give a shout out to my little brother who originally got me into this show and well if you haven't seen it do yourself a favor and go get the DVD's immediately. Trust me.

Here is my favorite character. Mother Lucille Bluth.

So This Happened

Do yourself a favor and turn on ESPN or any other news channel for the story about Manti Te'o's non existent girlfriend. Its most likely the weirdest sports story that you have ever read.

My favorite response: "Karl Rove is reporting that Te'o's girlfriend still might be real"

We certainly have not even scratched the surface on that one.

Happy Thursday.

Kris Kross Today

You remember the backwards clothes wearing kid rap duo Kris Kross? Of course you do.

Well they now look like this.

Just in case you ever wondered.

Music Question

Q: AC/DC is from what country?
A: Australia

Boom.

Scary Movie Freakout

Confession: I hate scary movies. Okay hate is a strong word. I have chosen not to watch them in the past twenty years due to me being a little wimp. Seriously, have not seen any since I was at least 10.

Well tonight that changes.

I'm scared, nervous and excited all at the same time.

Chances of a full nights sleep is at about 30%

I'll keep you posted how it went tomorrow.

It's Back...

Tonight is the return of American Idol.

Hello? Hello? Anyone out there that cares anymore?

Just in case anyone does. It premieres tonight with three new judges. Miriah Carey, Keith Urban and Nicki Minaj. First two fine. But seriously if I was a Idol hopeful and waited in line for a day and a half to have Nicki Minaj judge my singing, I would lose it a little.

I will not be turning in this season, but I'm sure I will hear about the antics.

Also another thing you can count on is some "Dawn Talk" from Mr. Randy Jackson.

Quotes Quotes Quotes!!

I haven't done a quotes post in a while.
Here are some good ones from some books, movies and tv shows:

"You spend your whole life stuck in a labyrinth, thinking about how you'll escape it one day, and how awesome it will be, and imagining the future keeps you going, but you never do it. You just use the future to escape the present." -Looking For Alaska, John Green

"I'm here to kick ass and chew bubble gum. And I am all out of bubble gum." Nada - They Live

"No lists of things to be done. The day providential to itself. The hour. There is no later. This is later. All things of grace and beauty such that one holds them to one's heart have a common provenance in pain. Their birth in grief and ashes." ― Cormac McCarthy, The Road

"Memories are bullets. Some whiz by and only spook you. Others tear you open and leave you in pieces. Someday the right one will catch you between the eyes and you'll never see it coming. There'll just be a flash of a face or a smell or her touch. Then bang, you're gone." Richard Kadrey

"I see now that the circumstances of one's birth are irrelevant. It is what you do with the gift of life that determines who you are." -Mewtwo

"The portal to hell is opened with the incantation of good intentions."

"It's very simple: We can only see clearly with our hearts. What's essential is invisible to the eyes."

Pain is a part of life. Sometimes it's a big part, and sometimes it isn't, but either way, it's a part of the big puzzle, the deep music, the great game. Pain does two things: It teaches you, tells you that you're alive. Then it passes away and leaves you changed. It leaves you wiser, sometimes. Sometimes it leaves you stronger. Either way, pain leaves its mark, and everything important that will ever happen to you in life is going to involve it in one degree or another.” -Harry Dresden

Whoa.

I know I'm getting a little sidetracked today but drama in the office will do that to you. Luckily I'm not involved and I'm literally hiding under my desk for cover.

To entertain myself I have found this picture.

Damn You Jam Cruise

Friends of mine are coming back from Jam Cruise this week and while I don't ever think that I would go to a  week long concert on a boat. Damn does it look fun!!

Remember These?

I totally had one glued to my hand back in the day.... Oh technology how you have grown.

Music Question

Q: Kurt Cobain was found dead in his Seattle home in what year? '92, '94 or '96.
A: 1994

Matchbox Twenty - I Will

Yes I'm posting about Matchbox Twenty. No its not 2005. Yes I still like them. Deal with it.

I can not explain this song better than the band did during one of their interviews:

"The song is about a couple who have been together for a long time. One of them then develops Alzheimer. The lyrics "When you don't know, I will". In essence its a love story, but not in the traditional sense."

I think its a beautiful song and am glad that this band is still making good music.

Kings of Convenience - Mrs. Cold

Two Guys. Two guitars. One great song. Meet the Kings of Convenience and enjoy their song "Mrs. Cold". I need to let my itunes run on random more often...

Craziest Headline Ever?

I will start out by saying everyone in this story is okay. The following headline will make me laugh for a long time.

"Swedish Cleaning Woman Steals Train, Accidentally Crashes It Into Home"

I have so many questions....

How Can You Not Love Her?

I know I'm borderline obsessed but the more I read about this girl the more I think that her fresh approach is what has been missing in Hollywood for the last few years. Jennifer Lawrence is winning everything right now and I am totally okay with it. Especially if she still keeps feeding us lines like this.

On why she turned down "Inside the Actors Studio":
"Do you know how much that guy would hate me? Tell me about your method? There is no method! I never know my lines! He would be horrified. I love that show show but I'm not old enough. I'm not at a place yet where I can look back and think 'Oh this is how I... I am not read. And please, I'm an animal.".

On the Globes win:
"I never know what's going to come out of my mouth and thats what always gets me in trouble. One thing I do know for certain is that the first thing I do when I get off a carpet is take my heels off, rub my makeup everywhere, and basically pick up a garbage can and go 'Rawwwrrrr!' and dump it all over my head".

Hathaway who?
