This song was orignially written by Bennie Benjamin and Gloria Caldwell for the singer Nina Simone, who first recorded it in 1964. Since then it has been re-recorded and covered by many artists, most noteably being the 1965 recording by "The Animals". Finally in 1977 a disco/latin edition by Santa Esmeralda was finished. This final version is the version you see below during Kill Bill. Its again, a perfect match between music and battle. Tarrintino has this part of movie making down!
