INXS Break Up

Well you can't say they didn't make a good run at it.

After 35 long years together the band announced onstage yesterday in Australia that they are officially calling it quits. The band was halfway through its opening set for Matchbox Twenty when the drummer Jon Farris told the audience that this performance was in fact that bands last.

Farris and his brothers Andrew and Tim were the original founders of the band with singer Michael Hutchence back in 1977. In the mid 80s they hit their peak with songs like "Devil Inside" "Never Tear Us Apart" and "Need You Tonight".

After Hutchence committed suicide in 1997 the band struggled for years before they held a reality show competition called "Rock Star: INXS where they found J.D. Fortune who carried the band until Ciaran Gribbin (above) took over in Sept. 2011.

Here is my favorite performance from where else... Wembley Stadium.
