Ridiculous Beatles Auction

And some people think holding onto music memorabilia is crazy! Take a look at this story that happened over the weekend.

A signed copy of the Beatles album "Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band" brought in over $290,000 in an auction on Saturday. The UK copy of the album, with a high gloss cover was autographed by all four Beatles in 1967, the year the album was issued. Bidding began at $15,000 but quickly pushed over $110,000 in prebidding. Then came Saturday and the numbers just started rolling in finally stopping right near 300k. Many think it was the high quality of the autographs that sent the price into the sky. And it also beat out the last person who paid $150,000 for the signed copy of "Meet the Beatles".

Insane.
