Meet the band Twenty One Pilots. I only heard about them because my boyfriend called me really last last night raving about their performance on the MTV Woodie Awards. While I have not been able to find that performance yet on the internet I have done some research on them and for as little that is written about them they are quite impressive. They should easily be put on everyone's list of people to watch in 2013.
Here is the band info written on their website:
"The duo that is Twenty One Pilots - Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun - has earned widespread applause for their energetic live sets and distinctive fusion of piano-driven schizoid pop and lyrical uplife. No strangers to the road, they have built a fervent national following via their electrifying live performance at innumerable headline shows and tours. The band made its Fuled by Ramen debut weith a new EP titled Three Songs released Summer 2012 and was followed by a full length album titled Vessel available now.
But its what they write about under their "biography":
"Basically, we are all responsible for the preservation of our personal joy; but happiness is different. Joy is not circumstantial, happiness is. You can be depressed and still have joy You can be suicidal and still have joy. We all stop thinking and we all stop talking and all we stop sharing and we all stop creating, because by doing any of these things we quickly find out just how unhappy we are. But thats okay. That's normal. Don't let the fear of unhappiness cripple your pursuit of finding what it is you believe. Since joy is found in belief, we all have to push through unhappiness to find joy."
Here is "Holding on to You":
