The Batkid Rises

Maybe the best story I've seen all year. Batkid for the win! Way to go Make-A-Wish!

Operating Room Dance Party

This is your feel good video of the day. I can only hope that if one day I have to go through this procedure I will be as strong as as brave as Deb Cohan. Who along with the entire OR staff busted out moves to Beyonce's 'Get Me Bodied' before her double mastectomy.

She needs to get on Ellen stat!

Stand Up Comic DESTROYS Heckler

This is the best video I've seen all day. Watch ASAP.

Lady Gaga Flies At Release Party

Lady Gaga literally had a flying dress to premiere her cd last night. Ha. Got to give it to her that she seems to outdo herself at every turn.

Here is another outfit she wore at the party:

hahahaha!

Meet The Front Bottoms

The Front Bottoms was one of the groups I was talking about earlier that opened for Manchester Orchestra last night that I was super impressed with. Now you will have to bare with me since I have known about this band oh for about 15 hours but I'm doing my due diligence.

I have bought their latest album and am in the process of listening to it and I'm as equally impressed as I was last night. The other cool thing is I found out they are a product of Bergen Country, NJ. That is a mere 30 minutes from where I grew up. Jersey represent!!

Here is what their amazon profile says:

"What can we say about The Front Bottoms? We know we love them: a punk band that uses acoustic guitar, indie-rock dance grooves, Springsteen-y keyboard lines (this they might deny). It’s hook-filled… it’s anthemic… it’s confessional. Maybe Joni Mitchell by way of Green Day? They must have heard some Replacements along the way, and it seems like what Jonathan Richman and the Modern Lovers did for the Boston suburbs these guys are doing for Bergen County, NJ. But they still leave us scratching our heads. Just what the hell have the Front Bottoms alchemized?"

Here is their lyric video for 'Skeleton'. I'll write more tomorrow once I get a full listen to the album.

Terrible News Out Of Brooklyn

There is just some awful news coming out of Brooklyn today where it seems that one of the band members of the Indie band 'Yellow Dogs' (who was kicked out of the band about a year ago for selling equipment). Has shot and killed 2 out of 3 of his bandmates and then turned the gun on himself.

Details are still emerging but this is really sad news for a band that made their way to the US from Iran and were really starting to make a name for themselves.

Awful.

Seriously Beyonce Stop Being So Awesome

I have said it here before and I'll say it again. I love the way Beyonce treats her fans. For a super star as big as her to get down and do what she did last night at her concert was amazing.

Check out the video above where she duets one of her songs with a blind fan named Sophie. Her sister said:

"She's never really been able to go to a concert due to logistical reasons so I made a video about Sophie. Even with everything that she's been through, she's been able to do so much. She raised over $1,000 for people with multiple sclerosis and the Runamuck (for MS Society). I put that all in the video and I just said that I think someone as amazing as her deserves to meet someone amazing as Beyonce."

Love it. Way to go Queen B.

Manchester Orchestra Live In Richmond

Last night I took my boyfriend to see his favorite band perform live at the National here in Richmond Va. And to be honest with you I did not do my due diligence coming into this concert because if I did I would have not been so surprised on how blown away I was by how amazing this band was.

The bands name is Manchester Orchestra and if you have not heard of them and are a fan of really good lyrics and seriously just good music you should check them out. The bands lead singer Andy Hull has one of the best rock voices I have ever had the pleasure of hearing live. And the bands ability to go from soft to rock so quickly and seamlessly has me shaking my head to why they were not more famous.

But you see thats the thing. As a music lover and spending my fair share searching around the radio and music blogs I was surprised to know some of their more popular songs.

The show last night lasted about an hour and a half. They had two openers. One hard rock one that wasn't really my scene but the other will deserve its own blog post so I'll save that.

But it was awesome last night to step outside my music zone of phish and dance music and see how the rock band fans live. It was extremely enjoyable and I highly recommend that anyone and everyone spend the $25 on a ticket and go see these guys live immediately. I promise you you will be impressed.

I'm sure this will not be the last that you hear of me from Manchester Orchestra. In fact I will hopefully now do my research and figure out really how amazing these guys are.

For now I think you should check out their video for "Simple Math". It could be one of the best music videos I've ever seen. Seriously it deserves an Oscar or something.

Happy Veterans Day!

This is a picture of my mother father a Chaplain in WWII. Who I do not have a picture of today (but will post tomorrow) is my other grandfather on my fathers side who was in the Navy. I'm so extremely proud to have both of these fine men in my family history.

I am also proud to know many service men and women who are serving or have served in the last few wars.

This is a sacrifice that I know I did not make but I know that makes our country stronger.

Love to everyone who is served, has served or has had a family member serving.

Why Jennifer Why!?!

Just when I thought my girl Jennifer Lawrence could do no wrong she went off and got the mom hair cut yesterday. Booooooooooo.

We Were Us

Although I must admit my favorite performance of the night was Miranda Lambert and Keith Urban singing 'We Were Us'. Great tune. Fantastic singers. Miranda seems like one of those girls you would want on your side in a bar fight. Watch the video.

Long Night

Last night I couldn't sleep so I sat up in bed and watched one of the three channels I do get in there. One was ABC and I watched pretty much the entire Country Music Awards. It was half enjoyable half painful. The one thing I did learn is that country musicians really love people like themselves. Its like their own little community which I guess is nice. Anyways to the point. I guess they gave Taylor Swift the pinacle award. I didn't think it was that special until I found out it was only given out twice before. To George Straitt and Garth Brooks. Now I'm impressed.

Take a look at the well deserved video below.

I Ate Your Candy Part Three

This is my favorite Jimmy Kimmel stunt yet.

Gaga to Sing In Space

File this under ridiculous.

Lady Gaga is planning to sing in space in 2015.

"She is set to blast off in a Virgin Galactic ship and belt out a single track during the Zero G Colony tech festival in New Mexico. 'She will have to do a month of vocal training because of the atmosphere' says a source, who adds that the diva's glam squad will join her in the shuffle."

A Phish Halloween To Remember

Phish threw their fans a curve ball last week at their Halloween show in Atlantic City. Rather than covering a bands full album they reached into the future and debuted their yet to be recorded new album in its entirity. While many fans were bummed they didn't do the cover album I for one thinks that new phish is better than phish covering other bands any day. For a band like this to survive 30 years they must come up with new material and us as fans must support that adventure. Not everything will be perfect but I for one don't want them to have to play Tweezer every single year forever. Let them grow.

Picture of the Day

From 2 Broke Girls....

Arctic Monkeys - Walk On The Wild Side

Arctic Monkey's paid tribute to the late Lou Reed on Sunday night with their performance of the 1972 hit 'Walk on the Wild Side'.

Light It Up

Here is a recent picture of Mr. and Mrs. Pothead.

Snoop Dogg and Rihanna.

Charles Barkley for the Win

HAHAHAHA.

Also on another sports related note if the stupid Red Sox win the World Series tonight I am not going to be a happy camper. Warning.

Phish Halloween Repost

Follow this link and remember the time I dressed as a glowbot and danced the Atlantic City Boardwalk on my way to my first Phish Halloween show.

Video Flashback

Here is a rare video of reunited Lou Reed, John Cale and Nico playing "Waiting for the Man"

Springsteen and I

Back in May I wrote about a new Springsteen documentary I was looking forward to. Well on Saturday night I stumbled upon it and it was as amazing as I thought it would be.

While I love Bruce I wouldn't call myself a die-hard fan but the people in this documentary were. They were fans from all over the world who sent in (in video form) their love for the man who makes the music that they live for.

There were a few reasons I loved it. For one I am a fan of music and always appreciate seeing people find their own band and to hear what that music means or does for them validates the band I have in my life. Secondly it showed many times where Bruce invited fans on stage to sing, dance or even just run around with. To see those interactions and to see what Bruce is able to do for people is astounding. I loved hearing all the stories, seeing the different ages of people and hearing why this man has changed their lives for the better.

I love music. I love everything about it. And if you love music and appreciate a fans love "Springsteen and I" is a documentary for you.

Here is my favorite clip from the Philadelphia Elvis:

Flying Grim Reaper Prank

I'm still not over watching The Conjuring this weekend. If I was out for a run and this happened I probably would have died.

RIP Lou Reed

I am super sad about this next news...SUPER SAD.

Lou Reed, the punk poet of rock n roll who influenced generations of musicans as the leader of the Velvet Underground died Sunday at the age of 71.

While he never approached the commerical success of such stars as the Beatles or Bob Dylan, no songwriter has emerged that had more of an impact since them but Lou. He introduced the world to the experimental theater in combination of rock music.

He pretty much began the indie rock that was introduced in the 1960s. The punk New Wave and alternative rock movements that followed in the 70s, 80s, and 90s were all due to Reed who songs were covered by REM, Phish, Nirvana, Patti Smith and countless others.

My favorite quote about his impact was this: "The first Velvet Underground record sold 30,000 copies in the first five years. I think everyone who bought one of those 30,000 copies started a band." - Brian Eno, Roxy Music.

Lou will be missed by countless musicians and fans alike.

"Despite all the complications
You can just dance to that rock n roll station
And it was alright.... "

Here is one of my favorite Phish covers a Lou classic... Rock N Roll

Things Are Getting Silly Busy

Oh why hello there. You thought I forgot about this blog didn't you? Well alas I have made my journey back but I must warn you I have the capability of disappearing at any moment.... We have officially hit my busy season at work and I have no way of predicting what will happen here the next two months but I just hope I am ready.

The only thing I do know is that Phish is gearing up to blow our minds away with another Halloween show tomorrow night in Atlantic City. I remember back to when I saw their Halloween show I was stoked. For those that do not remember they choose a random album to perform that night and perform it to its entirety.

No clue on what will happen tomorrow night but from the sounds of its going to be great. Why? Well because they are tearing it up as of late. Here is a review of their show in Reading last night.

Best. Costume. Ever.

This is hands down the best kids Halloween costume I've ever seen. Ever.

Kanye West Officially Done

Well Kanye West there was a time when I thought you may have been one of the greatest rappers ever. You have just flushed that all down the drain the last few years haven't you? The final straw happened just a few days ago when he rented out At&T Park (where the SF Giants play) and asked for Kim Kardashian's hand in marriage.

There is no coming back from this Kanye.

Leaked Tape

Follow this link to watch a great leaked audition tape by 50 cent for the movie 'American Gangster'.

Amazing

The following is what happens if you are a band and you do not pay your audio guy. Ha.

Carini from Hampton

Phish just released the official video of Carini from Hampton on Friday night. Easily the highlight of that show.

Saw This And Laughed

ESPNW is doing this whole "This Girl Loves Football" campaign and this one made me laugh.

I hate the women who wear the pink jerseys. Wear your team colors and be proud.

Also speaking of sports this will make you cry.

Congratulations Kelly

Absolutely love the dress that Kelly Clarkson got married in over the weekend.

So True

This next video sums up what its like being a girl at the gym perfectly.

Music Landmark Attractions

If you get a chance today follow THIS LINK. It will take you to a list of all the important Rock & Roll landmarks in the U.S. and where you can find them. Its pretty neat to see how many you can check off the list.

Thank you Rolling Stone for doing this.

How Is It Wednesday?

I can not believe it is Wednesday already? Where has the week gone? The good thing is that we are halfway through it but the way time is moving these days is crazy!

Anyways, back to the grind.

Sorry I went MIA for a few days I had some Phish shows to see at Hampton and they were amazing!! I managed to make it through another three night run proving to myself that being 31 will not hold me back. So what it took me an extra day or two to recover, I still made it! ha.

I managed to capture a small part of Saturday nights Harry Hood on my phone. (video below). And yes that hat above is my latest purchase and will be seen on top of my head from now until the end of winter.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Nov 22nd

Is it too early for me to buy my tickets for the Hunger Games: Catching Fire movie that is set to be released next month? Not sure if I've been more excited for a movie in well since the last one premiered.

Also side note I actually am loving the Coldplay song they wrote for this soundtrack.

Truth

Gloria Steinem Sets The World Straight.... Again.

Leave it to Gloria Steinem to pretty much say everything I'm thinking about this whole Miley debacle.

"I wish we didn't have to be nude to be noticed. But given the game as it exists, women make decisions. For instance, the Miss America contest is, in all of its states, forms, is the single greatest source of scholarship money for women in the US. If a contest based only on appearances was the single greatest source of scholarship money for men, we would be saying 'This is why China wins.' You know? Its ridiculous. But that's the way the culture is. I think we need to change the culture, not blame the people that are playing the only game that exists."

SO TRUE.

Thoughts on 31

I turned 31 last month and I can't help but thinking about the following things:

-Does this mean I'm officially old?

-Is it still okay for me to travel the country with my friends to see music?

-Why does everyone I know have kids or are pregnant right now?

-Does it matter that I feel as if I'm about 10 years behind everyone else?

-Is it still okay to live by myself and enjoy every moment of it?

-What about missing my parents. Because I still miss them just as much as when I went away to camp when I was 9.

-Does 31 mean that I can no longer pretend I'm a student to get discounts?

-Does it mean that this 6 lbs that I gained this year will just continue to add up and not go down?

-Do I have to pick a career now? I mean I think I have but I'm pretty sure it can change at any moment.

-Does 31 mean my mom will no longer put out a Christmas stocking like she when she stopped when my older brother got above 30?

-What could it all mean???

All I know is that I'm eternally grateful to still be roaming this earth at 31. I'm pretty sure all the questions above will just figure themselves out with time. Until then I'm still planning on hoping in my car on Friday to go see 3 nights of music with my friends. If anyone does tell me that that is stupid or irresponsible to them I will say you are old and jealous. :)

"Please me have no regrets"

Bastille - Things We Lost in the Fire

Another band worthy of your time.

The Neighbourhood

If you haven't heard of this band yet I would highly suggest you pay attention to this post. This band is legitimately good. Worth every second of your time. Check out the following songs and see if you agree.

Survival by Eminem

Not sure how I feel about the new Eminem music hitting the airwaves. Don't get me wrong its still probably better than 90% of the people in the current rap game it just doesn't grab me like his music used to.

Felina

The amazing show Breaking Bad came to a screeching halt a few weeks back with the best finale I have ever seen for a show. (I'm looking at you in shame Dexter....).

This show had it all. Great acting, spectacular writing, twists and turns you wouldn't believe. All and all probably a top 3 TV show of all time. I miss it already...

Helping me make it through this void is this great fan video. Do not watch if you haven't watched BB and ever intend to. That is my warning.

The National - I Need My Girl

I heard this song last week while watching TV and it has been stuck in my head ever since. Nothing too crazy special about it just fit in perfectly.

Glee - Make You Feel My Love

This is a cut from the super sad Glee episode that aired last week. Still have no idea how Lea Michele was able to pull this off. Can't even imagine how tough filming this was.

Best of the Internet

Here are some great videos I missed out on posting over the last few weeks. Each one is worth the watch. Trust me!

'Carrie' Coffee Shop Prank

'This is the End' Bloopers

Trailer for 'The Secret Life of Walter Mitty'

SNL 'Girls' staring Tina Fey

Stereotypes: Fantasy Football

BatDad

The Final Shot

Mean Tweets- Music Edition

This. Is. HILARIOUS.

In this video musicians read mean tweets about themselves. haha.

Arcade Fire on SNL

Saturday Night Live sure does love them some Arcade Fire. The band has performed on the show about five times now. This latest time they brought two cuts from their new album that included a great dance song called "Reflektor". Any fans of them (or the Talking Heads) will enjoy this tune.

HAMPTON

Well its just about that time again. Only 3 days left of work then its off Friday to go back to the Mothership. Yes thats right. Phish is coming back to one of my favorite Virginia venues down in Hampton for a three night run. I have plans to hit each show with the usual crew. This is a well deserved trip after being crazy busy the last month.

Can't wait. Can't wait. Can't wait.

The Month of Miley

Unless you have been hiding under a rock you know that the last month in pop culture has belonged to Miley Cyrus. It started with her VMA performance, then moved into a breakup with her fiance, a feud with Sinead O'Conner, questionable photo shoots, hosted SNL and a number one record. Everywhere you turned you were hit with another Miley story. Love her or hate her you can not deny that she set out to make people talk and well they literally 'can't stop'. She has had two number one singles during this time and well I have to admit while I didn't care for her "Can't Stop" single the song "Wrecking Ball" is growing on me.

I'll save my thoughts about how she went about this last month for another post but lets just leave it with this... Mission Accomplished.

Do You Remember Me?

Oh My God! Guess What!?! I'm back to blogging full time now. I know what you all are thinking... Where did I go this last month? Did I just stop listening to music all together? Would I ever make it back to this blog? All valid questions all could be answered very quickly.

I worked a whole bunch in this last month making my life pretty miserable. I still listened to some great music but have been unable to get on here and get them out of my head. But good thing is that I have returned and it is nothing but full speed ahead!

I hope this last month has treated everyone well and you are happy and healthy and all excited for the holiday season. That is right its mid October I can start to get excited for Thanksgiving and Christmas.

I'm going to go grab some lunch and then really get down to business here. For now here are some great things Jimmy Fallon has done in the last month that should interest you all!

The Mindy Project

The Mindy Project came back on TV last night and I couldn't have been happier. Something about this show makes me smile. Maybe its because everything that comes out of the main characters mouth is something that I"ve said or at least thought of saying.

Take a look HERE.

I've missed you Mindy.

Haunting Video

Take a look at this video of a man playing piano inside his house while its being flooded by the Colorado rain storms this past week. Its quite haunting.

Evolution of End Zone Dances

Timberlake and Fallon are at it again. Take a look at this hilarious video below and tell me you wouldn't watch a show with these two every night.

Bravo.

Roar.

New video for Katy Perrys song "Roar".

This song like Gaga's is growing on me every time I hear it.

Ha.

Found this on my friends page and it made me smile.

Britney Is Back. Officially.

Ms. Spears is officially back announcing yesterday that she will take up residency in Las Vegas for the next two years.

Not going to lie if I was going to be in Vegas I would totally go see this show.

No judging!

New Daft Punk

New video for their song 'Lose Yourself to Dance'. Now this is a dance party!

30 Days...

Hi and sorry for the delay this week. Work has been pretty insane and I"ve been tied up like Jesse on Breaking Bad (seriously people what the F happened in that episode on Sunday... I"m still recovering).

Anyways I'm back today and the only thing that really matters is there is only 30 days until Phish plays at Hampton.

I can make it right?

What Does The Fox Say?

Absolutely no words for this following video. NONE.

X-Factor

I guess that the new X-Factor premiered last night. I was too busy yelling at my TV over Big Brother to tune into this show. Yet I did catch one performance this morning that impressed me. A boyfriend/girlfriend duo did a stellar job covering former judge Ms. Spears 'Toxic'. Worth the watch.

Also if anyone can clue me into who the judge is next to Kelly Rowland you win five dollars. I've never seen or heard of her before in my life.

Keys To A Jets Victory Tonight

This pretty much sums up tonights game vs the Patriots.

New Ellie Goulding "How Long Will I Love You"

Ellie Goulding released a new video for the song she covered 'How Long Will I Love You' used for the movie About Time. I don't know about you but I love it when Ellie shows her softer side. Its short sweet and to the point.

"We're all traveling through time together
Every day of our lives
All we can do is do our best
To relish this remarkable ride"

Sigh. So true.

I Like Lady Gaga Again?

If its possible I have fallen back in love with Lady Gaga after her apprearance on 'Watch What Happens Live' last night. She was absolutely hilarious and I loved every single moment of it. That and her new song 'Applause' has been stuck in my head for about a week and I don't really mind it. Plus I think it has the best hook of any song this summer.

Lets see how long this phase lasts but for now I'm back on Team Gaga.

Whoo Hoo Colorado Chalkdust

This post is for only serious phans. All others just keep skipping below.

I have finally gotten my hands on the video of the 23 min Chalkdust Torture that we were blessed with out in Colorado earlier this month. Its just about as amazing as I remember...

Famous quote from this song is Brianna turning to me about 17 minutes in and asking "Is this still Chalkdust?" Yes.. Yes it is!

Poster Score

Pretty stoked for my latest poster score from the Phish posters in Denver. This will fit in nicely with all the rest. (Yes I'm a tad obsessed... so what)

Only thing that is left to do is find this bad boy a frame.

Oh My Family

My Dad went to go see a Queen cover band last night. His email seemed to really confuse my brothers. This was the response from my little brother when he thought that my dad actually went to see Queen.

Shaking. My. Head.

Drew Kennedy New Album Wide Listener

I saw Drew perform here in Richmond a little under 2 years ago and was blown away. His previous albums have been nothing short of stellar and to be honest his new one "Wide Listener" has the potential of blowing those out of the water (and that is saying something).

What is even more impressive is this entire album was funded by a Kickstarter campaign. By people who believed enough in what this man does to throw their hard earned money at him to make a record. To anyone who likes storytelling, this man does it unlike any other. His songs sound simple but looking deeper you can see the complexity of a man wanting to tell other peoples stories.

I found this review of the new record on the 'Farce the Music' blog and it does ring true.
"Wide listener is the sound of a man who's found the sweet spot - where creativity, passion and talent all overlay each other on the venn diagram. Drew Kennedy may never be the best known singer-songwriter in the world, but with albums like this, we can rest assured he'll always be known as one of the best."

Congratulations Drew on the new album release and well deserved accolades that are coming with it.

I'm Back

Hello and sorry for the week long delay. This last week has been crazy/busy but within the last week I've gotten a lot accomplished.

I turned 31 years young. Hard to actually believe I made it to this age but I'm grateful and thankful to all the people in my life that made turning this age, a little easier.

The Jets kicked off their season with a surprising victory on Sunday. A great bday present if I do say so myself. Tonight we have a tougher task with the Patriots, but it can be done. Maybe.

My fantasy football team tied their first game. Sucks but after making a 35 point comeback during the last two games I'll take it.

Work has been kicking my ass up and down the street but I have decided it will no longer bother me. I will show up. Do what I am told and focus on what is important. The guests and their stories. That should keep me motivated enough to stay positive.

9/11 was yesterday. A day of remembering and a day to look back. I will never forget driving back up to my hometown a few days after the tragedy and the thing the hit me the most is driving by my little towns train station to see the numerous cars whose owners were never coming back to claim them. The world changed that day and its something I can nor will ever forget.

So there is is. A week full of craziness. But I promise to pay more attention to this blog and keep it up to date.

Here goes nothing:

New JMU Basketball Court

My old college James Madison University is throwing their hat into the contest for "Most Ridiculous Basketball Court Design". They just unveiled their new court this weekend.

I guess thats where the NCAA tournament money went to.

Bieber Spotted

Yes that is Justin Bieber at the Phish show in Colorado on Sunday night. From what I hear he was brought there by his musical director and huge Phish fan Dan Kanter.

I really don't mind this. Especially since from what I hear there is only one or two pictures of him and everyone around him acted like he was just like any of them. Like we always say... 'All are welcome'.

All celebrities of his stature should be so lucky to be with people who don't care who you are and just want you to have a good time.

Bravo Phish fans.

Made In America Trailer

There is a new documentary set to be released about the Jay-Z 'Made In America' show and its filmed by Ron Howard. Definitely looks like it will be worth the watch.

READ THE BOOK

Found a great video of the Icculus from 8/30. Its worth the mention that before a show a plane carrying a 'Read the Book' banner flew over the parking lot.

Glad they filled the request.

Added bonus:

Phish debuted a new cover as an encore on Saturday Night. Willie Nelsons "On The Road Again" followed by a raging Tweezer reprise. And if you don't believe this band is having the time of their lives just watch Trey during the reprise. Amazing.

Made It To Red Rocks

To quote one of my friends.... "This is what adult Phish tour is all about"

On Saturday while recovering from the travel/show on Friday night we got our asses up and out of our hotel room and made the mecca to the venue known as 'Red Rocks'. Boy was it worth it.

Carved out in the middle of a mountain is a venue unlike any other (okay maybe the Gorge). This place is a sight to be seen for any music fan. The view is incredible. Its a state park so they allow you to walk all over the place, including the stage.

Now all I have to do is wait for Phish to go back there to see a show.

Phish In Denver. What a Weekend!

Well what can I say about this weekend that would perfectly sum it up?? Lets see. I flew out to Denver, met up with four of my best friends, saw three amazing Phish shows, made the mecca to Red Rocks, drank local beers, ate at local food trucks and pretty much soaked up every bit of fun that my body could handle. How does that sound?

Seriously though this weekend was things that dreams are made out of. I remember sitting in my apartment after the Phish Colorado run last year thinking to myself 'Wow...if those guys go play out there again next year I'm going'. And well I did it. I finally figured out what all the fuss is about and witnessed it with my own eyes. Phish in Colorado is a whole other experience that every Phan should witness. I don't know if its the clean air, the mountains, the venue, the tour closer but there is something that makes the band extremely comfortable.

2013 has been a banner year for my band. How many bands do you know are playing as well or better in their 30th year then they did in their 10th? These guys are on fire and they know it. I'm just glad that I'm along for the ride.

I would describe the shows like this.

Friday - Welcome party
Saturday - Second set was the highlight of their year so far
Sunday - Raging dance party

All three nights were different and standouts for their own right.

Friday I finally got the Icculus that I have been chasing for 15 years. After the Lizards of last year I think that all my favorites are finally off my bucket list. Saturday we were treated to a 23 minute Chalkdust Torture that literally took a year off of my life. And Sunday's dance party especially the Boogie On ended the weekend on a high note.

Explaining these occurrences to a non-phish fan is hard but just understand that for a fan like me this will now be my yearly tradition. If they go out on Labor Day each year to Denver I will be shocked if I'm not in attendance. SHOCKED.

Now a final shout out to my friends.

I am literally the luckiest person alive to have these girls in my life. This weekend was a welcomed distraction from a very tough summer. The fact that I can get on a plane and meet up with four girls that I would literally lay my life on the line for is something that I am extremely grateful for. For the first time in about 5 or 6 years the crew was finally all back together doing what we do best. Dancing. Laughing. And enjoying each others company. There is something special about these ladies that literally make me cry for joy when I see them. This weekend will go down in the books as one of the best executed weekends of all time. Thank you guys for accepting me (bad dance moves and all) for who I am and allowing me the opportunity to cut loose and enjoy myself. I would not be who I am today without you all.

Okay its now time to struggle through the rest of this week at work. Yet every time I get up and feel the soreness in my legs I remember what a great time this weekend was and how it was all worth it.

Again feeling extremely grateful and blessed this morning that I have this thing in my life that brings me utter happiness and joy.

Now let the 45 day countdown until the 3 night run at Hampton begin now!
