I caught about five minutes of Mary J. Blige on idol last night... she was trying to teach some poor girl to sing by singing in front of her. I don't know about this girl, but if Mary started to belt in front of me and wanted me to sing it back to her I would cry and walk straight out of the room. Nobody sings like Mary. Nobody!
I've been listening to Mary J since I was in middle school, and somehow she has never skipped a beat. I'm really glad that she made it through the music industry and is still on top. It is certainly deserved.
