RIP Deep Purple's Jon Lord

Sad day for Rock and Roll music. Jon Lord, the former keyboard player with the rock band Deep Purple died today at the age of 71. Lords roots are deep in rock history. He co-founded Deep Purple in 1968 and co-wrote many of the groups greatest songs including the instant classic "Smoke on the Water". He also played with bands later in his career like Whitesnake.

The family released a simple statement after his death from pancreatic cancer. "Jon passes from Darkenss to Light".

RIP Jon. Your keyboard solo on this next track is still one of my favorites.
