The Day The Music Died

Today marks the 52nd anniversary of tragic plane crash that took three very young rock n roll musicians lives well before their time. Buddy Holly, Richie Valens and J.P. "The Big Bopper" Richardson were all set to become the next big thing before "the day the music died".

The famous song "American Pie" says all that you really need to know about the crash but here are a few more facts that are more staggering to me. Ages. Holly was 22 years old and had a pregnant wife at home. Richardson was 28. And little Richie Valens was just 17.

That is unbelievable to me. 17. Thats like Justin Beiber. Imagine that.

Thinking about these three today and thinking about what could have been if these legends actually lived past that ugly day in February.
