Well if this isn't one of the most exciting artists of 2010 I really don't know what is. "Marina and the Diamonds" (which actually refers to the lead singers original name, not the back up band) is poised and ready to do some havoc on our US soil. She has already made a name for herself in Europe with her unique style and influences. And to be honest listening to her album last night was like a breath of fresh air. Fantastic.
A good reason for this is her influences. People such as: Blondie, The Distillers, Patti Smith, Tom Waits, Nirvana, PJ Harvey, Elliot Smith, Dolly Parton and Madonna.
