I almost forgot about this. Silly me.
Tomorrow is Record Store Day and Phish will be releasing Junta, the band's first full length studio album, as a Limited Edition Deluxe 3-LP vinyl set. It will be available exclusively at participating independently owned record stores across the country. This will be the first time that Junta has ever been released on vinyl.
What makes this so cool is that it is limited to 5,000 individually numbered copies. The record was originally recorded in Revere, Massachusetts in 1987 and 1988. The record meant a lot to the band for they had produced the album themselves and also self-released it on cassette tape first with packaging created entirely by the band.
The album was remastered and re-released as a double CD in 1992. It was certified Platinum.
Now I'm not huge into vinyl but if this is your thing, record store day is not to be missed!
