MGMT

And this is how the Grammys were supposed to go down:
"And the winner for best new artist, is without a question, MGMT!!"
**roars from the crowd**

See thats how it was supposed to go. Instead just like in Grammy tradition the award did not go to the band it was supposed to but an overrated country artists. Suprised? Yeah neither am I. But for those who care out there MGMT is hands down the best new artist to break out this year.

MGMT is a musical duo based out of Brooklyn New York. Andrew and Ben formed this band while attending Wesleyan University, and were quickly signed to Columbia Records. It did not take long for this band to start making waves. In 2007, they were named Spin Magazines "Artist of the Day", followed by Rolling Stone naming them as their "Top 10 Artists to Watch". This was all before the release of their first album Oracular Spectacular. When this album dropped in early 2008 is shot right up the critics choice lists. Named by Rolling Stone as the #18 Album of the Decade and to 2008 Album of the Year by NME. The album spanned three top 10 hits: Kids, Electric Feel and Time to Pretend. This summer they opened for Paul McCartney's tour up in Boston.

Even with their loss at the Grammy's this band is far from even starting. Expecting their new album to be dropped spring of 2010 there is nothing but great things in this bands future. Plus have I mentioned how awesome their videos are? Its like straight out of an acid trip. Absolutely fabulous! Enjoy

And I promise no kids were harmed in the making of the following video:
