Song Lyrics

You know there are those certain songs whose unique lyrics stick out and stay with you for years. "Can I live while I'm young?" "All you touch and all you see is all your life will ever be" "Because your mine, I walk the line" "Freedom is just another word for nothing left to lose" I can go on forever.

Yet did you ever have a whole entire song that grabbed you. Every single lyric written seems to be almost written for you. Or is so descriptive that you can feel the emotion, you feel the moment in which this song was written, it becomes deeper and more personal. Yeah I know everyone does right? Well I was in my apartment last night listening to some really old DMB shows from back in the early 90s and one of my favorite songs came on. When Dave sings the lyrics to "Typical Situation" I feel like I'm sitting in the room with him. I truly believe its one of the best written songs around. I mean really who says things like:

Ten fingers counting we have each nine planets
Around the sun repeat
Eight ball the last if you triumphant be, seven oceans pummel
The shores of the sea
Its a typical situation in these typical times,
too many choices hey yeah
Its a typical situation in these typical times,
too many choices

Everybody's happy everybody's free,
we'll keep the big door open everyone will come around
Why're you different, why are you that way.
If you don't get in line we'll lock you away.
It all comes down to nothing.

Six senses feeling five around the sense of self,
four seasons turn on and turn off
I can see three corners from this corner
Twos a perfect number, but one well....

Everybody's happy, everybody's free.
We keep the big door open, everyone will come around
Why are you different, why you that way?
If you don't get in line, well lock you away.

Its a typical situation in these typical times....
too many choices.
